The department ensures our employees remain connected to the information they need whether in the office, in a truck or when working remotely.

Hawkins is looking for a Help Desk Technician at our corporate headquarters in Roseville, MN . Reporting to the Network Manager, this individual will ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks.

▸Receive, prioritize, document and actively resolve end user help requests in a courteous, timely and effective manner; escalate incidents when appropriate or necessary to maintain SLA expectations.
▸Resolve user problems in person, by telephone, or via e-mail, using diagnostic and help request tracking tools and document details and outcomes.
▸Provide in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level, including installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.
▸Perform set-up, moves, adds, and change requests; ensure that physical desktop connections (Ethernet, telephone, etc.) are in proper working order; perform preventative maintenance of workstations, printers and peripherals.
▸Create end-user documentation and perform end-user training sessions around new and upgraded software, business processes, and new hire orientation.
▸Communicate with end users on system changes, upgrades, outages, and changes related to Information Technology.
▸Learn and stay up-to-date on appropriate software and hardware used by the organization.
▸Alert management to emerging trends in incidents, and analyze trends in documented resolutions for ways to prevent future problems and to develop long-term strategies for meeting future end user needs.
▸Conduct research and evaluate products in support of PC procurement and development efforts.
▸Develop and maintain inventory records of all hardware and other components and equipment.

●Two- or four-year degree in the field of computer science and related technology, and 0 to 2 years equivalent work experience.
●Excellent technical knowledge and experience with:
▸Windows PC and desktop hardware
▸Windows desktop and server operating systems
▸Application support for MS Office
▸Active Directory, including creating user accounts, performing password resets, unlocking accounts, etc.
▸Microsoft Exchange and/or Office 365/Exchange Online
▸Virtualization concepts, specifically VMware ESXi and Horizon View
▸Networking concepts, networked and local printers, A/V equipment
●Familiarity with Help Desk ticket tracking tools
●Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both technical and user-friendly language, and strong interpersonal skills, including listening and asking pertinent questions to solve problems
●Highly self-motivated, keen attention to detail, ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure
●Exceptional customer service orientation, and experience working in a collaborative team environment
●Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and bend, reach, stoop and twist as required.
